Saint-Arbogast in a white dress

The enchanting place called "Saint-Arbogast" has today been captured in a rare winter mood. Snow conditions on the lowlands are becoming increasingly seldom. Insidious climate change is undoubtedly on his way. In 2019 there was only one snowy day that could be described as a real winter landscape.

Fleeing from the city of Haguenau, where safety regulations very quickly turn fresh snow into gray and sticky mud, a mere ten-minutes drive is enough to reach this enchanting wood area where stands Saint Arbogast's dedicated chapel. A few steps nearby are the imposing remains of the once majestic giant oak under which, according to legend, the holy man Arbogastus lived as a hermit around the 6th century.

The place is now completely wrapped in cottony white. There is absolute silence. However, this atmosphere of sleeping nature lasts a few hours only. But my recording will keep this moment in memory for a long time.

This photographic representation with a touch of painting effect is achieved through a specific post production process. Other views of that holly site, taken during the four seasons, are featured in the respective season chapters. May I invite you to take a small detour to get there?
