In the footsteps of former pilgrims coming from Burgundy and elsewhere, we are here on this old Burgundian pilgrimage route, well out of time. The nature on its surroundings is somewhat left to itself, making the nearby forest impenetrable. All bushy, it thus guides the poor sinner to stay on "his good path" leading him straight to the redemptive prayer and the old chapel "Notre Dame du Chêne" located not far, at the very end of that alley, in the middle of the forest.
Very old trees planted all along the way several centuries ago offered a beneficial shade to the devout pilgrims wishing to rest under their imposing crowns. The old stone tables and benches, invaded by mosses and lichens, are falling into ruin and no longer welcome travelers who have not stopped there for a long time. Like witnesses of another time, these trees, these old stones, would certainly be able to tell us the most beautiful, but undoubtedly the most curious and the strangest stories too.
